Mundane Monday

It was a blah Sunday around our house.  We're not parents and both our fathers have passed away, we skipped Father's Day again this year and kept our memories close to our heart.  It was a rainy and overcast Sunday.  You know, one of those days when you just want to lay on the couch and watch movies all day, but I didn't!  I was productive enough to get some laundry done.  The rest of the day I played computer games, and yes, I watched a few movies...but I was at the kitchen table, not on the couch (we have a TV in our kitchen).

Oh we did have a visitor yesterday.  While I was sitting at the table in the kitchen, out of the corner of my eye I see something walking across the backyard.  I grabbed my camera.  Sorry it is so "grainy", obviously, I took this picture through the screen door.  Bambi was here!  If I'd pushed the screen back to take this picture, I'm sure the deer would have darted for the woods.

It's the beginning of another unemployed week, a Mundane Monday.  John took today off from work.  He hoped to get the lawn mowed.  However, the day started out much as yesterday, rainy and overcast.  There was a 70% chance of rain today, this time, they got it right.  By about 11am, the sun started coming out.  Figured if I was going to get my walk in today, I'd better dash at the opportunity.  As you can see, the clouds were starting to break up a bit.

I opted for one of the shorter routes around the neighborhood today, just in case the weather changed quickly and I needed to make a mad dash for home.  Here are a few things I saw along my way.  I believe these may be impatiens, thought they were pretty enough to share with you.

It was turning into a lovely day.  The sun decided to stay out for awhile, there was little humidity and a nice breeze which helps when my cardio increases and my body gets warmer (sweats), the breezes are welcomed.  Someone spent some time decorating their mailbox.  I bet it annoys the mailman.

I don't recall seeing these Hydrangeas last time I was past this way.  These are in full bloom and are just gorgeous, don't you think?

Just up from my house is the lovely stream, probably why the deer cut through my backyard to reach the stream.  I'm in the final stretch of my walk, about 100 yards from my house.  I was out longer than I thought, 25 minutes.

I let John know I had returned from my walk.  I told him it was a lovely 70 degrees and the sun looks like it might stay out.  Since it rained most of the night and morning, he said the grass was too wet to be mowed, even with the sun out.  He stayed at his computer most of the day, he does puzzles on his.  I hope he enjoyed his day off.

The forecast for the week is a chance of thunderstorms each day through Friday.  Water for my tomatoes!!  We're headed back into the heat and humidity with temps expected to return to the 90s (ick).  Does it seem like each summer gets warmer and warmer, while winters continue to be colder and colder?

As the afternoon worn on, it stayed sunny.  I sat on the deck for awhile, it was nice listening to the birds and feeling the warmth of the sun.  Here's my view of the sky about 3pm, not a cloud to be found.

At least I got my walk in that made me happy.  Goodbye Spring, tomorrow is the first day of Summer.  Hope your weekend was great and you made it through Monday too!

Our weekend was OK. I did get to walk as well, but decided to share pictures from a previous walk where I passed a grave site LOL. An old grave site.

Today is my knitting group and it looks like rain. We sit outside. We might get rained on today. It will be hot so rain will feel good.

Our day didn't clear up quite as nice as yours did yesterday. It stopped raining but was still cloudy.
Nice to see the pictures of your walk.
I'll be seeing RK at knitting in a little while!
Hope your Tuesday is good one. : )
