I debated whether or not to even post today. It was a very boring day again. I don't even have pictures for you. It rained most of the day today. I was able to make it out to the Bloom for grocery shopping. John wanted to come with me as of last night. This morning, after doing puzzles on the computer, he declined at 11am. I figured I'd get everything on my list except the Diet Cokes. As you know, I go to Shoppers Food Warehouse for those. SFW is the other direction from the Bloom anyway. I decided to let that trip go until tomorrow.
I got everything on the list, surprisingly for $175.60. If I'd gone to the local grocery chain, Giant Food, it would have been closer to $250. Their gimmick is to bait you in with the "savings" on gas where you get 10 cents off a gallon of gas at Shell for every $100 you spend at Giant. They do have some items that the Bloom doesn't carry, in which case, when needed, I swing by. Otherwise, we didn't find the gas savings beneficial matching what we spent for groceries. Tomorrow, off to Shoppers Food Warehouse for the Diet Cokes.
John has been itching to mow the lawn. I don't know why, no one in the neighborhood is mowing their lawns. I take that back. Those who have hired a landscaping company to mow their lawn once a week are getting theirs mowed, even in the rain. I told him to wait until Saturday, the chance of rain drops to 0%. Today was 50% and it rained most of the day on and off. Tomorrow, we have 30% chance of rain. I just bet he'll be out there tomorrow with the lawn mower. Have you heard the world is ending Saturday? Believe it? Nope, me either.
I got laundry done and the grocery shopping. That was as productive as my day got. I did get a phone call from a recruiter from Northrop Grumman. He wanted to know what I've been doing since I've been looking for work. What kind of question is that? He says the economy is picking up, why haven't I had any luck obtaining employment? I found this recruiter very rude. His final question was would I be willing to travel overseas, and I answered no. Something about is demeaning questioning rubbed me the wrong way. Some of these recruiters prey upon the unemployed, figuring they can get the unemployed to do anything, since we're hungry for work. I've been used by those type of recruiters before. Part of me wants to play along for their line of questioning, the other part of me says why bother giving them the time. We ended the conversation by him saying if I am selected for an interview, I will receive another phone call to schedule the interview....I'm not holding my breath.
I did some job hunting online, not much out there today. I'll check it again tomorrow. I played some games on the computer. I watched Oprah, counting down the days until she's off afternoon TV. I know there are some that are pleased. I'm not one. My afternoon TV is being cancelled. I'm from the generation that grew up with TV. We got our first color TV in 1969. I remember watching The Monkees in Black & White. When we got the console color TV, WOW, The Monkees looked so much cuter in color!
I just saw the weather forecast, well, I guess spring is over here. Hot and humid for the weekend, in the 80s. Monday and Tuesday in the 90s with rain expected (again!) next Wednesday and Thursday. Who cares right? The world is ending on Saturday <giggle>.
Thanks for peeking in on me. I could sure use some cheering up on the comments section. The recruiter's comments are bothering me.

Lots of rain again here too.
Yes, did hear about the world ending. We were kidding about it at church. We said see you next Sunday and if the world ends we'll see you in heaven. : )
I've gotten hooked on jigsaw puzzles on line. Does John do the ones at jigidi? I like turning my pictures into puzzles. : )
Ditto. Seventh day of rain here. Enough already! Oh I wouldn't have liked that recruiter's attitude at all. He'd probably have had a click in his ear, preceded by a "It's been lovely chatting with you. Click." That the economy is picking up is one of the biggest lies being told these days. There are pockets of economy upturns, but it is not a widespread thing at all. It's one of my pet peeves...a media that doesn't tell the whole truth. Keep on trucking, Noofy. Just do what you know to do today. Something will turn up.
